Category 7A within foundational concept 7 of the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior section of the MCAT focuses specifically on the psychological and biological factors that have an impact on behavior. Category 7A is the first of three content categories within foundational concept 7.

Overview of Foundational Concept 7, Category 7A

Content within category 7A covers the biological bases of behavior, which includes the effect of genetics and how the nervous and endocrine systems have an impact on behavior. It also covers how personality, psychological disorders, motivation and attitudes impact behavior.
