Overview of Foundational Concept 4, Category 4D

Light is a form of electromagnetic radiation, and its behavior depends on its frequency. When light interacts with matter, changes take place that can be used to sort material on an atomic or molecular level. Different levels of absorption of radiation can be used to make images that are useful in diagnostic medicine.
