The lifestyle of a doctor can be incredibly stressful. Most doctors work more than 60 hours a week, and their schedule can be incredibly unpredictable. Work hours are largely dependent on the type of practice and location.

Still, aside from the reward of helping people, doctors are among the most compensated professionals in the United States. Those working in pediatrics can make nearly $150k in their first year, while surgeons can make nearly $300k. Salary can depend on location and area of expertise.
