A radiologist technician, perhaps more commonly known as an x ray tech, plays an important role in the hospital setting.

Educational Requirements

Most hospitals and clinics will only hire technicians who attended an accredited program and earned the necessary certification.

Most technicians are able to analyze and understand x ray readings, however only a physician is allowed to discuss image results with patients. The increased need is largely attributed to a growing population of elderly people. The median salary for radiologist technicians is around $48,000 per year. Payment is based primarily on education and experience. Technicians who peruse a bachelor’s degree will have more opportunity to earn a higher salary and move into leadership roles.
