The first two years provide students with an early
introduction to the patient, as well as to the spiritual and ethical
dimensions of medicine. In the third year the student serves
clinical rotations conducted by departments at the Medical Center
and its affiliates. The fourth year provides the student with

First-year courses are Molecules and Cells,
Structure and Function, and Medicine and Society. The 2nd year
covers 6 Organ System units, Intro. to Clinical Medicine, Physical
Diagnosis, and Medicine & Society. Required and elective clinical
clerkships and Health Care Ethics/Jurisprudence are the courses of
years 3 and 4. Passing USMLE Steps 1 and 2 is required for promotion
and graduation.
