The Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine,
has a 4 year curriculum that is predominately disciplined-based. The
first and second year provide primarily Basic Science courses and a
longitudinal course, designed to teach doctoring skills. Included
are communication skills, physical exam skills, history taking
skills, documentation, HIPPA, ethics, epidemiology, community
medicine & geriatrics. |

In Years 1 and 2 of the six-year Baccalaureate-MD
program, students spend 3/4 of their time pursuing undergraduate
arts and science courses but 1/4 of their time in clinical courses
with patient contact. In Years 3 and 4 students study basic science,
continue their baccalaureate work, and enroll in clinical rotations
including a weekly continuing care clinic. Years 5 and 6 are
clinical. |
