| Four-year M.D. program curriculum
|
The curriculum consists of four years of
instruction divided into three phases. Phase 1 (first two years)
covers the core basic science instruction and the foundations of
clinical medicine. Phase 2 (year 3) provides the core clinical
experiences required of all students. Phase 3 (year 4) builds upon
the clinical foundation of phase 2. |

The core curriculum is divided into preclinical
and clinical years. In the preclinical years the scientific basis of
health and disease is presented. In the clinical years students
rotate through clerkships followed by an Integrative Clinical
Medicine course. Complementing the core curriculum are opportunities
to explore the leading edge of scientific discovery and learn
scientific reasoning. |
